Goals
Lauttasaari bridge is on a popular biking route in Helsinki. Communication between the construction site and the citizens is crucial when working in these main paths leading to the city centre. The city of Helsinki has goals for reducing the disbenefits caused by road work and has noted that communication is one of the biggest reducing factors.
Solution
Kreate together with the city of Helsinki uses Worksitemap.com (in Finnish Hankekartta.fi) as their common tool to communicate with each other and providing more informative and up-to-date info for citizens with an interactive web map. Now when Kreate makes decisions and plans, they can be directly done into Worksitemap.com and they automatically are updated to all sources where the map is integrated and shared to, e.g. web pages, email, Facebook, electrical info boards.
Results
Worksitemap.com has already in only internal use improved the communication between the contractor and city of Helsinki. The project is on its way of replacing PDF maps with interactive and up-to-date maps only.
